A great band photograph should tell you something about the artist before you’ve heard a note. I create distinctive promotional photography for bands and artists — images with personality, atmosphere and a sense of who you actually are.

Whether it’s for a new release, press campaign, social media, tour promotion or simply a new set of artist images, the aim is the same: to create photographs that feel like you, rather than photographs that could belong to any band.

The best promo shoots start with an idea. That doesn’t mean they need to be complicated. A location or studio, a piece of light, an expression or something completely unexpected can be enough.

I like to work collaboratively with artists, developing ideas around the music, personality and visual direction of the project. Sometimes we’ll plan everything. Sometimes we’ll find the photograph when we get there. That’s usually where the interesting stuff happens.
